I studied psychology at the U of M in Minneapolis,    and have practiced meditation in the Buddhist tradition of vipassana (insight) since 1988.

In 2003 I was discovered Nonviolent Communication in a three day intensive training wjith it’s founder, Marshall Rosenberg.  Deeply inspired that the practical tools of NVC can give hands and feet to our spiritual understanding, I have since then had more than sixty-five days of training with Mr. Rosenberg and other teachers, including Susan Skye, Lucy Leu and Robert Gonzales.

In 2005 I offered my first NVC training to the Madison Buddhist Peace Fellowship, and since then have led occasional training sessions in Wisconsin and Minnesota. For two years I have led an NVC practice group in the Winona area, and am currently registered as a candidate for certification with the international Center for Nonviolent Communication.

I am an avid photographer with many exhibits to my credit, and in 2008 retired after 28 years as director of the Trempealeau County Community Television studio in Whitehall, WI.
